Nevada sportsbooks see record $185.6 million betting handle on Super Bowl 58, as Las Vegas shops eke out win

The house always wins, right? In the case of Nevada sportsbooks, it was a small $6.8 million win after a record $185.6 million was bet on Super Bowl 58.

The 3.7% hold percentage was the fourth-lowest over the last 10 Super Bowls. Still, a win’s a win.

Since 1991, when results started to be tallied, Las Vegas sportsbooks have a record of 31-2 on the Super Bowl. Here are the only two Super Bowl losses for the state’s books, which now total 128, during that span:

  • 2008: Giants 17 Patriots 14 ($2.57 million loss on -2.80% hold)
  • 1995: 49ers 49 Chargers 26 ($396,674 loss on a -0.57% hold)

FanDuel, which does not operate in Nevada, reported a “record-setting” day for Super Bowl 58 including a betting handle of $307 million.  Neither DraftKings not BetMGM shared exact handle figures with The Sporting News on Super Bowl 58.
