NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities have arrested a man who reportedly tried to rape a 30-year-old woman while she was walking home .
The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the attack happened at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 in the 400 block of 11th Avenue North. Detectives reviewed surveillance video that reportedly showed the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Eric McLean, trying to drag the victim into a small alleyway inside an 11th Avenue North garage after grabbing her from behind and knocking her to the ground.

McLean allegedly tried to remove the victim’s clothing, but she screamed and fought back. When a witness started yelling nearby, the suspect walked off as if nothing had happened, according to police.
On Monday, Feb. 12, MNPD officers and troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol found McLean walking in downtown Nashville. Investigators said he generally matched the description of the suspect and refused to speak with detectives.
