KS House gives initial approval to increased penalties for hurting, killing police dogs

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A proposed bill to increase the penalty and fines for people who harm law enforcement dogs or horses is approved by the Kansas House. Currently, the sentence for someone who harms/ kills a law enforcement dog is 30 days to one year in jail with fines from $500 to $5,000.
