NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The historic mansion that houses Nashville staple Monell’s could soon be demolished.
Officials with the restaurant posted on Facebook asking to help “save the manor” while linking to a page that said the manor “faces the threat of demolition .”
The Metro Nashville Airport Authority told News 2 they will not be renewing the lease on the restaurant on Murfreesboro Pike.

The historic mansion is known for it’s southern cuisine since 2011, but the history behind the walls built in the early 1930s after the original mansion burned in 1929 extends well beyond what we see today.
“It was the real unofficial center of power in Nashville for many years,” said Brian Mansfield the vice president of Historic Nashville, Inc.
The manor was known in the 1940s as the Colemere Club, a speakeasy that attracted notable guests, such as politicians and musicians.
“It’s such a special building, such a special history there,” said Rob Hogan of R. Hogan Enterprises.
