SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – A lawsuit has officially been filed against Sarasota City Commissioner Kyle Battie for what Kelly Franklin’s attorney describes as a racial hoax. The lawsuit stems from a photo Battie presented at a meeting on Jan. 16 that Franklin’s attorney says painted her as a racist, adding the picture featuring a caption about gorillas was edited.
