Dozens of Anchorage flight attendants staged a demonstration Tuesday at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport for “better pay and working conditions,” according to ANC Council 30 Mobilization Chair Rebecca Owens. The Association of Flight Attendants, which includes dozens of Alaska Airlines employees, voted Tuesday nearly unanimously to authorize a strike against the airlines. The AFA represents flight attendants across 19 airlines. Tuesday’s demonstrational picket in Anchorage was part of a national effort in which thousands of flight attendants across the country protested for a better contract.
