Fifty cent thrift store opens in Spokane Valley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A new thrift store with a fresh concept is opening today. By shopping, you can live sustainably and give back to the community.

Fiddy Club is a membership-based store opening in Spokane Valley on Wednesday. Members will be able to get clothes, household items, and more for fifty cents.

All of the items in the Fiddy Club are donated. Proceeds from the memberships and in-store sales go to help support Reclaim Project Recovery, a non-profit helping men transition away from addiction, homelessness, and incarceration.

Fiddy Club’s owner, Shawn Kingsbury, gives these men an opportunity to work at the store.

“We are using these jobs to support men who are changing their life. Men who have dedicated themselves to a life of sobriety, to get away from criminality, to lift themselves out of homelessness. So I’m trying to create as many wins from one program as possible,” said Kingsbury.

Memberships are $149 annually and allow the membership holder to buy up to 250 items, including a limited number of large furniture items a month, all for just fifty cents each.
