Dozens of shots fired in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating after dozens of shots were fired along New York Avenue and North Capitol Street in Northwest D.C.

Man shot, killed wife in Prince William County, police say

MPD got a call of shots fired just before 2 p.m. Witnesses told DC News Now they heard rapid gunfire and saw cars peeling off from the scene. No one was hurt.

There were about 47 evidence markers on the scene, many of them marking shell casings left behind.

Several nearby buildings and a power meter were struck by the gunfire.

The on-scene investigation wrapped up and New York Ave NW reopened to traffic around 4:15 pm.
