Woman charged with murder told police she ‘sliced’ man after fight in hotel room

WASHTENAW COUNTY, MI – A 40-year-old woman charged in a fatal hotel stabbing told police she used a knife after the man became angry she was hugging other people. Litara Sheila Jones, 40, told police she and 43-year-old Jermaine Javon Wright had left a Pittsfield Township hotel around 6 p.m. on Nov. 16 to purchase more alcohol, Jason Smith, a detective with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s office, testified Tuesday, Feb. 13. While they were in the area purchasing alcohol, Jones was hugging people, prompting Wright to get angry and walk away, Smith said.
