Two people were found deceased in a Lakewood apartment building on Saturday in what appears to be a homicide/suicide, police said Tuesday.
Lakewood officers were dispatched at 2:08 p.m. to the 8000 block of 83rd Avenue Southwest for reports of an “unknown trouble incident.” A juvenile contacted a resident of the complex and said there was an incident inside another unit. When the resident went to the unit, they found two people who were later determined to be deceased, according to a news release.
Officers located the bodies of a man and woman in the apartment. They were killed from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives went to the scene and conducted an investigation. They determined from preliminary evidence that the deaths were a domestically related homicide/suicide, the release said.
The release said that the juvenile was associated with the unit and is currently safe with family. The juvenile was related to the man and woman. Police will not say how the juvenile was related to them, LPD spokesman Sgt. Charles Porche told the News Tribune on Tuesday.
