AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo City Council passed a resolution during Tuesday’s regular meeting that aims to show that the city looks to support Governor Greg Abbott’s efforts on the Texas-Mexico Border Operation Lone Star.
“Item 9-E Consideration of Resolution NO. 02-13-24-4” on the City Council’s Feb. 13 agenda passed with a unanimous vote. According to Mayor Cole Stanley, the resolution was on the agenda because they felt they wanted to support the governor’s efforts.
“We really do need to secure our southern border and take whatever measures are necessary to make sure that we can control and perform the securing and the public safety needs that we have for our citizens,” said Mayor Stanley.
