Felony charge for woman accused of hurting Lansing officer

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office officials confirmed Destiny Jones is facing a felony charge from an incident that left a Lansing Police officer injured.

Jones, 22, faces a felony of assault, resisting, obstructing a law enforcement officer causing an injury. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

Police say Jones was involved in a domestic dispute Sunday. The dispute led to a call to police. While attempting to arrest an individual, the person resisted causing injury to the officer. The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and released.
