DENVER (KDVR) — Three months ago, 34-year-old Kelsey Anderson donated one of her kidneys to her dear friend Colin Giglio at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver.
Colin was born with a kidney condition, and as he grew older, his kidney function dropped to 11%. He went on dialysis and registered for a kidney donation from a deceased donor, but that can take years.
Large tumblers are popular, but it is possible to drink too much water
So, when Kelsey realized that her blood type was a match to Colin’s, she decided to donate.
“It didn’t feel like a big burden on me to do that, and to just be able to give that life to somebody else, and that gift, is just so wonderful,” Kelsey said.
Colin said he is now doing well, and he is grateful beyond words.
“I thank God every day that I had a friend like that to be able to give that up. It’s pretty amazing what she did,” Colin said.

What is also amazing is that Kelsey’s husband had just donated his kidney to a total stranger earlier in the year.
