Summerville town administrator announces retirement

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – Summerville’s Town administrator is stepping down from her post to retire, the town announced Wednesday.

Lisa Wallace has served as town administrator since 2021 and has almost three decades of public service. Nearly 24 of those years were dedicated to Summerville.

The town said Wallace intends to help pick her replacement as the town will begin the search for a new administrator in February and expects the process to take several months.

“The timing is a little bittersweet for me because there is a real sense of energy and momentum right now with so many great projects in the works. I could not be more excited about Summerville’s future,” Wallace said.

She has held various roles for Summerville, including clerk, treasurer, assistant town administrator, director of administrative service, and special assistant to the Mayor.

“Summerville is a better place because of Lisa’s dedicated service and love for this town,” Summerville Mayor Touchberry said. “While we will miss her leadership and bright spirit, we are excited for her next chapter and wish her well.”
