DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The names behind Soin Medical Center have filed a lawsuit against Kettering Health, accusing the medical giant of breach of contract.
According to documents filed with the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on Jan. 9, Raj and Indu Soin say Kettering Health has not properly used their name in violation of the contract signed by former company CEO Fransisco Perez.
Page 14 of the 223 page filing shows the Soins are looking for Kettering to use the “Soin Medical Center” or “Indu & Raj Soin Medical Center” as prominent branding on exterior and secondary signage. The couple also wants Kettering to use the naming in the company’s branding material, announcements, marketing, marketing materials and more.
Documents say the Soins allegedly paid a “multi-million dollar amount” to support Kettering’s construction of the hospital, located at 3535 Pentagon Blvd. in Beavercreek.
Online records show the Soins are suing the healthcare organization for $25,000, and request a jury trial.
