During the last week, Alachua County reported a total of 713 crime cases, a statistic that paints a concerning picture of the place’s security situation. The most frequent crime reported was ‘Suspicious Situation’ with 242 cases, making up approximately 34% of the total crime cases. This was followed by ‘Other’ crimes, which accounted for roughly 15% with 104 cases. ‘Assault’ and ‘Theft’ were the next most common, with 94 and 93 cases respectively, each constituting around 13% of the total. ‘Trespass’ cases were also significant, with 71 incidents reported, approximately 10% of the total. The remaining categories, ‘Domestic Related’, ‘Burglary’, ‘Vandalism’, ‘Shooting’, and ‘Arrest’, collectively made up 25% of the total cases with 26, 24, 20, 20, and 16 cases respectively.
