Minnesota DNR responds to hundreds of dead fish on Mississippi River

LAKE CITY, Minn. (KTTC) – A Lake City viewer told KTTC he spotted hundreds of dead fish floating on the Mississippi River. We reached out to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and it said this is caused by ‘thermal stress’ due to the recent high temperatures. It explained approximately one thousand gizzard shad were killed.
