‘I’m baffled’: Omaha councilmember called out by mayor for hostility at city hall

OMAHA, Neb. – A hostile moment at Omaha city hall has led the mayor to pull some staff from certain city meetings. North Omaha councilmember Juanita Johnson referred to the city’s planning director as a “smart a–,” after a line of questioning during a council meeting on Feb. 6. Mayor Jean Stothert then sent a letter to city staff, accusing the council member of creating a hostile work environment.
