One arrested for armed robbery in Travelers Rest

TRAVELERS REST, S.C. (WSPA) – A man has been arrested for allegedly stealing two PlayStation 5 consoles from a Wal-Mart.

According to the Travelers Rest Police Department, on Sunday, Donte David Gresham walked into the Wal-Mart on Benton Road, where he picked out two PlayStation 5 consoles, walked around the store and allegedly walked out of an employee exit.

According to the police department, an employee approached Gresham and asked him to return the consoles. The employee told police Gresham then lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked into his waist band and threatened the employee’s life.

On Tuesday, Gresham was located and arrested by the Greenville Police Department and charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He is currently being housed in the Greenville County Detention Center and was denied bon.
