SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A workplace death is under investigation in Spartanburg County.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office said it was called to Lubrizol on Brooks Boulevard in Spartanburg just before noon on Wednesday for a report of a workplace death.
According to the coroner’s office, Joe Conner Nuckolls, 26, of Greenville, was operating a lift machine near a high voltage wire and was electrocuted.
Officials with Lubrizol confirmed that a representative from United Rentals, Inc. was involved in an incident at their Spartanburg plant while performing an inspection.
South Carolina OSHA is investigating the death.
