‘We definitely belong:’ Lou Gramm on Foreigner’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Rock and “ROC” legend Lou Gramm may soon be a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, as the band Foreigner was nominated for the Hall this weekend .

It’s certainly been a long time coming for Gramm and the band. The band was formed in 1976, and has sold hundreds of millions of records; with songs like “Jukebox Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” and “I Wanna Know What Love Is.”

Notably, Gramm and co-founder of the band, guitarist Mick Jones have been inducted in the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame.

But Gramm is keeping busy, with plenty of concert dates coming up, including at Kodak Center in March with his All-Stars (which includes his brother, Ben Gramm, on drums). He’s even working on a new album, revisiting old master tapes from his solo projects for the songs on the record.

He says it will be out in the last quarter of the year. Gramm spoke to News 8 over Zoom on Wednesday.

“I’m hoping this will be it for us, I’m tired of the anxiety about it, and I think we definitely belong there with our peers, and it would be wonderful to be in,” he said.
