Four killed in California ‘random murders’ terror spree, Two alleged gang members arrested

Los Angeles County officials have identified the individuals arrested in connection with a recent shooting spree as gang members who targeted random people across various locations in the region, killing four people.

During a news conference, Capt. Andrew Meyer of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department named the suspects as 42-year-old Gary Jonathan Garcia and 20-year-old Wayne McNeely Timberland.

The pair is accused of perpetrating a series of shootings that left four individuals dead in Bell, Huntington Park, Cudahy, and unincorporated Los Angeles on Sunday and Monday.

The motive behind the shootings remains unknown, and interviews are still ongoing to unravel the events leading up to the violent acts. Capt. Meyer confirmed that one of the suspects, Gary Jonathan Garcia, was apprehended in San Bernardino County by deputies, while Wayne McNeely Timberland was taken into custody at a residence in Compton by the LASD’s SWAT team.

Authorities have not explicitly identified the suspected shooter among the two individuals, but it was revealed that Timberland has no criminal history. In contrast, Garcia, according to Capt. Meyer, “has an extensive criminal history.” The weapon allegedly used in the shootings is still at large, raising additional concerns about public safety.
