The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office has shared its daily news report. On February 9, Ryan Meier from Audubon collided with a deer on the 11000 block of 240th Street. No injuries were reported and the damage was estimated at $3000. Meier was able to leave the scene in his vehicle.
On February 12, several arrests took place. Andrea Smith, a 42-year-old from Des Moines, was arrested due to a warrant for not appearing in court. Smith’s original charge was for driving with a denied, suspended, cancelled or revoked license.
Daniel Reeves, a 37-year-old from Lewis, was arrested on February 12. Reeves was charged with tampering with a drug or alcohol test and drug possession.
Dominique Peterson, a 28-year-old from Lamoni, was also arrested on the same day. Peterson faced two charges of drug possession, driving under the influence, and having contraband in a correctional facility.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that being charged with a crime is not the same as being guilty. The person charged is considered innocent until proven guilty. The daily call log can be found on the Sheriff’s Office website.
