LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – It’s been quite the warm and quiet February, but winter isn’t over yet!. Our first widespread chance for snow returns to the forecast on Thursday and into Friday morning. Snow chances will start making their way into northern areas come Thursday morning and then will sink southward throughout the day and eventually get to southern areas late Thursday night and then into Friday morning. In terms of snowfall potential… the highest amounts between 2″ to 5″ will be possible in northern areas as they are in a Winter Weather Advisory Thursday and into Friday morning. We will see decreasing potential amounts as you head southward. Areas along and south of I-80 will likely only see a trace to an inch, mainly overnight Thursday into Friday. Overall, this event will likely only bring light snowfall totals but could cause some travel impacts to come for the Friday morning commute.
