Snow on the way

SNOW TONIGHT

The day started chilly with wake-up temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens. Mostly sunny skies will rule through midday. Clouds are set to gradually increase this afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 30s – typical for late February.

A fast moving clipper system will approach from the west this evening. Snow will fall from about 8 PM to 3 AM. Accumulation won’t be major, but will require some car clean up before you leave the house Friday morning. We’ll see an inch or two along and north of the MA Pike with less than 1″ in southeastern MA. A few towns could get up to 3″.

Partly cloudy skies could produce a flurry or two Friday morning. The day will run dry, windy, and cold as a whole. WIND ADVISORIES will be in effect for the Cape, Islands, and central and western MA for gusts 50-55 mph.

WINTER-LIKE WEEKEND

Mostly cloudy skies will rule Saturday as a weak ocean low travels south of New England. It may come close enough to brush southeastern Massachusetts with some light snow. Any accumulation will be minor. Sunday will run partly sunny and windy. Both days will see highs in the mid 30s.
