Scam alert: Kenton County Sheriff’s Office issues warning

The Kenton County Sheriff’s Office is warning folks of a new scam approach in the area. In the scam, someone using a number with a fake caller ID will call people and tell them that a subpoena has been sent to them via USPS-certified mail. The scammer uses the name of a sitting county judge to make the scam sound more legitimate, and then asks the person to send them a copy of their signature to compare it to the signature they say is on the certified mail receipt.
