2 injured in South L.A. shooting

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Two people were shot Wednesday near South Los Angeles and hospitalized in stable condition.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the intersection of 89th Street and Vermont Avenue around 1:20 p.m. regarding shots fired. Two victims took themselves to a hospital, authorities said.

The exact nature of their injuries was unclear.

Sheriff’s officials said two men fled the scene in a gray Toyota Camry after the shooting.
