DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) – We now know when a long-awaited entertainment venue in Durham will open.
Topgolf is set to open in Durham this spring, according to a LinkedIn post from someone identifying a the sales account manager at Topgolf Raleigh-Durham.
The golf entertainment venue was originally supposed to open in the summer of 2022.
Avid golfer Jeff Stelmach said he’ll make the drive from Raleigh to Durham to drive at Topgolf.
“Very excited, I’m hoping that I can take the kids, wife and kids there, or maybe there’s a work event there, that would be great as well,” Stelmach said.
Something Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams is excited about is the 500 jobs he said Topgolf is looking to fill.
“Imagine 500 jobs from living wage all the way to well above in salary, being able to afford that back into their community, that is, that’s going to be a really big deal for us,” Williams said.
Right now on Topgolf’s website , those jobs range from dishwasher to maintenance technician to an event sales admin.
