In a chilling development that has rocked the community of Coon Rapids, two brothers from Minneapolis have been implicated in a harrowing triple homicide case that claimed the lives of a family last month. The accused, 31-year-old Demetrius Trenton Shumpert and his younger sibling, 19-year-old Omari Malik Shumpert, face grave charges in a case that continues to unfold with grim details.
A Family’s Nightmare
The charges levied against the Shumpert brothers include three counts each of second-degree murder, stemming from the deaths of Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, 42, her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, and her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Jungwirth, 20. The victims were found deceased in their home on January 26, marking a tragic day for the community. Miraculously, two children were also present in the home during the incident but emerged physically unscathed.
The Plot Unravels
This latest development comes two weeks after 37-year-old Alonzo Pierre Mingo was similarly charged, with his court appearance looming on April 3. According to court documents, the sinister plot involved Mingo disguising himself as a UPS driver to gain entry into the victims’ home alongside two accomplices.
