AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Amarillo College announced that nine student musicians have been selected by its music faculty to showcase their talents in this year’s Student Honors Recital, happening on Feb. 27 at 7:40 p.m. in the Concert Hall Theater located at the Washington Street Campus.
According to the press release, the music majors, along with the selections they will play, were selected for the Honors Recital based on their jury performances last fall.
Below is a provided list of music majors and their instruments:
- Stephen Jones, tenor – “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz” from Das Land des Lächelns, Lehár
- Carson Davis, piano – Sonatinain C Op. No. 1 Mov. 1, Kuhlau
- Trent Jones, guitar – Barcelona in D “Julia Florida”, Augustin Barrios Mangore
- Abran Herr, baritone – Money O!, Michael Head
- Raul Zuniga, counter tenor – Malagueña, Ernesto Lecuona
- Eliza Pearson, cello – Cello Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Op. 33, Camille Saint-Saens
- Jose Ruiz, tenor – “Una furtiva lagrima” from L’Elisir d’Amore, Gaetano Donizetti
- Keoni Murphy, guitar – Andecy, Andrew York
- Heaven Watts, mezzo-soprano – “The Saga of Jenny” from Lady in the Dark, I. Gershwin & K. Weill
