Highly-Rated Florida Distillery Closes Down, Citing A Decline In Florida’s Tourism Industry

According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, distilleries are on the rise in Florida. Because the state of Florida eased restrictions in 2021, the number of distilleries in the Sunshine State grew from around 30 in 2016 to around 100 today.

Florida even has its own distillery trail for those who want to travel the state sampling the product or taking tours.

Unfortunately, though, one of Florida’s distilleries is closing its doors, and it is reportedly due in part to lessening tourist foot traffic.

About Florida Cane Distillery: This business began in 2012 by two hockey buddies who wanted to use local ingredients to make “world-class” spirits. The distillery offers tours as well as a bar.

Tampa patrons give the distillery a very high 4.7 stars out of 5 stars on Google reviews. Reviewers almost unanimously praised the tours and the products. A few people took off stars due to having difficulty parking or having to pay to do so.

Someone named Mark wrote:

“We had a great time touring the distillery and tasting their fantastic vodkas and moonshines. The staff is super friendly, and they bend over backward to make the event fun. Highly recommend.”
