Newark hotel warns guests not to take showers for fear of Legionnaires’ disease

A health warning has been issued for guests at a Newark hotel.

The Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel is warning guests not to take showers there.

Hotel officials say that last year two guests were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease.

It is a serious form of pneumonia that spreads in water particles.

Hotel officials say they are working with health officials to chemically treat and permanently disinfect the hotel’s water system.
