Nassau County Legislator Scott M. Davis attended the opening of Insomnia Cookies in Hempstead, New York on Sunday, February 11. The new store is at 730 Fulton Ave. in Hempstead Village, selling cookies that can be bought in-store or delivered. Insomnia Cookies, established in 2003 by Seth Berkowitz, started as a delivery business at the University of Pennsylvania and now has over 260 locations nationwide.
The Hempstead branch of Insomnia Cookies is located near Hofstra University, Nassau Community College, and Adelphi University. The store will be open until 3 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 1 a.m. the rest of the week, serving the needs of local students.
Legislator Davis expressed satisfaction at the opening of the new store in Hempstead Village. He mentioned that Insomnia Cookies often opens in college towns, making Hempstead a suitable location for their latest store.
