Rental assistance grants are now available for Coloradans

(COLORADO) — Pre-application is now open for the Temporary Rental Assistance Grant initiative. The program, which was launched by the Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), will provide $30 million in temporary rental assistance to Coloradans who meet certain requirements and are at risk of eviction.

“Our commitment to keeping Coloradans housed remains steadfast,” said Maria De Cambra, Executive Director at DOLA. “We understand the challenges facing many families and individuals, especially during these uncertain times. The launch of the pre-application process marks an important step forward in our efforts to provide vital assistance to those in need.”

The initiative came about because of new legislation sponsored by Representative Mandy Lindsay, Representative Leslie Herod, Senator Julie Gonzales, and Senator Janet Buckner.

To pre-apply, visit DOLA’s Temporary Rental Assistance Grant page on their website , and be sure to apply before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

If you miss the deadline you will have another chance on March 15, 2024. The pre-application process will begin on the 15th day of each month and will continue until funds are spent. All grant money must be spent by June 30, 2024.
