While many people don’t have the best experiences growing up with coaches having a kid on the team, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has two sons on his team, and may be harder on them than anyone else.
In a recent Well Off Media video, the Buffaloes can be seen doing a drill where they are turning when the whistle is blown, off-camera his son and defensive back Shilo made an error. Clearly the team was having some issues with this drill in particular as you can hear the coaches yelling in the background at the start, but when Shilo made his mistake, his father and coach had seen enough.
Coach Prime, as he is referred to, hurries onto the field and tells his son to get out of the drill and watch from the end zone.
Shilo will again be one of the leaders for this Colorado defense in 2024 after a season that saw him post 67 total tackles, snag one pick which he took 80 yards for a score, and also force four fumbles. While it’s not the end of the world to see him get the boot for a drill, it does provide a glimpse into how serious Deion Sanders is as a head coach, and how accountable he holds his sons.
