7 Students Hurt After School For The Deaf Bus Loses Control On Ice, Crashes On Long Island

MILL NECK, N.Y. – Seven students from a nearby school for the deaf were transported to the hospital after their mini bus crashed into a tree on Frost Mill Road Thursday morning.

At around 8:30AM, the Brookville Police Department and multiple volunteer fire departments responded to Frost Mill Road after a school bus with students from the Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf crashed. The bus left the roadway after losing control on an ice patch in the road, sending the bus crashing into a tree, and sliding into a ditch, Brookville Police say.

Seven students were transported to local area hospitals to be further evaluated following the crash. The ages of the students on board the bus ranged from seven to ninteen years old, according to officials.

The school bus driver and an adult aide on board were not injured.

Brookville Police say that all injuries were minor and non-life-threatening.
