Two metro Atlanta residents face drug trafficking charges in Northeast Georgia following their arrests during a traffic stop.
The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office released information this week about the January 25 incident.
According to a news release, deputies initiated the traffic stop on GA 15/US 441 at Camp Creek Road. As a result of that stop and subsequent investigation, deputies arrested 37-year-old Stacy Umanzor of McDonough for trafficking methamphetamine.

Deputies leveled the same charges against Umanzor’s passenger, 38-year-old Joshua Freeman of Atlanta. In addition, they charged Freeman with possession of cocaine and crossing the state/county guard line with contraband.
Lab results from the state crime lab identified a substance found at the scene as fentanyl. The sheriff’s office says both subjects now face additional charges of trafficking in fentanyl.
