Woman Accused of Running over Man off Powers Ferry Road

An Atlanta woman is accused of running over a man with her vehicle off Powers Ferry Road.

Jimesha Jones, 28, is accused of running over the victim at a high rate of speed with a 2016 Dodge Journey after an argument on Feb. 4 between 3 and 3:24 a.m. at a residence at 2065 Powers Ferry Road in the Cumberland area, near the intersection of Powers Ferry Road and I-285, according to an arrest warrant by the Cobb Police Departmenet.

Jones and the victim had just come back from drinking alcohol at a restaurant. The acceleration of the vehicle caused it to strike another vehicle before coming to a stop. The victim was transported to Kennestone Hospital and is in critical condition, according to the Cobb County Police Department.

Jones is charged with aggravated assault – intent to murder. She was arrested on Feb. 4 at 8 a.m. and booked into the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, according to jail records.

Jones was released on a $25,000 bond.
