Single mother receives love, support from co-workers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A single mother finds some unexpected support from her co-workers, and their heartwarming gesture reminds her she’s not alone.

Alecia White and Sharica Bolton contacted WREG’s Pass It On with the hope of relieving some of the financial stress their friend and co-worker Tyrhonica Foster is under. They work at Christ Community Health Services in Frayser.

“She came to me and she was very vulnerable and she let us know that she had some financial hardships and it is really weighing on her mental health, and we take mental health very seriously,” Alecia said.

“She’s so financially overwhelmed and she doesn’t spend time with her children anymore because she’s working double jobs and double shifts and stuff. So, I feel like it is great for us to pass it on,” Sharica said.

When they called Tyrhonica outside, the tears started flowing immediately. She received an unexpected gift of $1,000 from News Channel 3 and our anonymous donor.

“I just be telling them everything like these are like my backbones. Like they are the reasons why. I go through a lot,” Tyrhonica said.
