26 Inches In 48 Hours (JHMR). Next Round Of Snow Approaching The Rockies.

It has been a very busy few days for the West. A slug of moisture brought double digits to Oregon and snuck north to Crystal where they reported 10 inches on Thursday morning. This also blanketed the Sierra with 12-18 inches of medium-density snow. Winds were strong Wednesday night and decreased on Thursday for the Sierra.

The same storm pushed east into western Idaho and the Tetons. Both Targhee and JHMR reported 10-11 inches on Thursday morning. Areas in western Idaho saw less snow. The Wasatch also benefited from a quick 10-inches during the day (Storm Ski) Thursday.

Here are some snow totals in the west as of early Thursday morning.

Boreal 17 inches

Mt Rose 14 inches

Timberline 13 inches

Mammoth 13 inches

Snowbird 10 inches (During the day Thursday).

JHMR- 12 inches (26 inches in 3 days).

Targhee 12 inches

Another wave of moisture will overspread Oregon on Thursday evening with 5-11 additional inches. This will move east skimming western Idaho and targeting an area from the Tetons to extreme northern Utah. Areas in the Tetons could grab another 9-11 inches by mid-morning Friday. In Utah, the focus will be the Logan area mountains near Beaver Mountain or north into southern Idaho (Pebble Creek). Areas south into the I-80 corridor and the Cottonwoods will see lighter totals.
