Convicted felon arrested after spotted inside carjacked vehicle, Metro police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A La Vergne teenager is facing a number of charges after Nashville authorities reportedly found him — along with a gun, drugs, and key fobs — inside a vehicle that was taken in an armed carjacking last weekend.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, Violent Crimes detectives took 19-year-old Nathan Lual into custody on Wednesday, Feb. 14 after he was seen on Battle Road in a parked Nissan Sentra, which had been stolen from an Antioch Pike gas station on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Police said they recovered a Glock 19X pistol with a loaded extended magazine from Lual during his arrest. In addition, marijuana, heroin, suspected cocaine, pills, digital scales, a key fob programmer, and seven key fobs were reportedly seized from inside the stolen Nissan.

Officials said Lual — who is from La Vergne but is a convicted felon out of Montgomery County — was charged with carjacking, three counts of drug possession, two counts of felony weapon possession, possession of key fob equipment, and possession of drug paraphernalia. As of this writing, he is being held on a $231,000 bond.
