Podcast examines cold case of missing Henrico girl

Brittany Williams was just three years old in 1996 when her mother, dying of AIDS, made the difficult decision to place her in the care of Kim Parker, who ran a charity organization in the Richmond region known as Rainbow Kids.

But when Williams, who was born with AIDS, was seven years old, she disappeared, sparking an investigation that has yet to uncover her whereabouts. Now, a new podcast is attempting to shed light on the case and what may have happened to Williams.

The APB Cold Case podcast, with host Mark Spawn (a retired police chief from upstate New York), examines Williams’ disapperance, the case against Parker that was litigated by former Henrico prosecutor Michael Feinmel, and the young woman who came forward in 2021 claiming that she had DNA evidence that she was Williams.

Spawn discusses the case with Feinmel and also examines the two women from California with whom Parker said Williams was living. The investigation into Williams’ whereabouts remains ongoing.

“This girl is gone, she can’t just be gone,” Feinmel said. “That just can’t be the end of the story.”
