State police, local group team up to host summer youth cadet camp

( WJET/WFXP ) – The state police is partnering with a local organization to bridge the understanding between Erie’s youth and law enforcement.

The Pennsylvania State Police with the Kiwanis Club of Erie will be hosting a Troop E Camp Cadet at Allegheny College in Meadville. The camp hopes to teach the youth more about law enforcement as well as other community agencies.

Registrants will arrive for check-in on Sunday, June 9, and the camp will conclude on Friday, June 14, with a graduation ceremony that family and friends are encouraged to attend. Eligible participants include boys and girls ages 12-15.

There is no cost to apply, but there is an upfront fundraiser registrants will be required to participate in. Those interested are encouraged to apply online here , registration opened on Monday, Feb. 12, and will run through April 15.
