TX Man Sentenced to 24 Years for Fentanyl Distribution and Gun Charge

SAN ANTONIO, TX – In a significant legal development, a Pearsall, Texas, man was sentenced to 24 years in federal prison for his involvement in the distribution of fentanyl and possession of a stolen firearm. The sentencing took place in a San Antonio federal court, marking a notable conclusion to a case that has highlighted the ongoing fentanyl crisis and its deadly impact on communities.

Elberto Roy Trevino Jr., also known as Lil Roy, 50, faced charges for one count of felon in possession of a firearm and one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl. Court documents reveal that Trevino was involved in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl in July 2022. In a tragic turn of events on July 4, 2022, an individual who believed they were purchasing cocaine from Trevino was found deceased, with substances at the scene testing positive for fentanyl and cocaine.

The same day witnessed further tragedy as two individuals were discovered dead in their Pearsall residence, with officers recovering a substance from the home that also tested positive for fentanyl. A subsequent search of Trevino’s residence on July 27, 2022, led to the discovery of methamphetamine, a heroin and fentanyl mix, ammunition, and a stolen handgun.
