COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) — A bakery for dogs has opened a spot in Columbus.
The bakery has been selling treats to dogs since 1989 and has no plans of stopping. With locations nationwide, this will be the bakeries second location in Georgia.
Joey and Tracey St. John, the owners of Three Dog Bakery, told WRBL, “We chose Uptown Columbus specifically due to the increase of pedestrian traffic and we really wanted to have a business that served the pet population and people.”
All the treats in the cases are all made from real ingredients such as fruits, applesauce, honey, various flours and carob making them safe for dogs and edible to humans.
Alongside other dog necessities like toys and leashes, the bakery also offers the brands packaged treats like chews, jerky, and cookies.
The St. Johns also told WRBL, “we want to provide an experience. We want to get to know the dogs by name and see them as often as possible to create a dog community within the bakery.”
The owners recommend bakery favorites, the pup cakes. These are cupcakes that are driven by seasons or holidays. Another customer favorite is the “Drooly Dream Bar” — a thick treat with lots of cake and frosting.
