Three storms to hit San Francisco bringing days of heavy rain and flood risks

Three new storm systems are forecast for the San Francisco Bay Area over the next week , bringing more rounds of heavy rain to the region. Some areas could see up to six inches of rain, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents experienced some relief on Thursday after a grey and wet day on Wednesday but the next weather system could move in as soon as Friday, forecasters said. The North Bay will experience the worst of the storm with four to six inches of rain predicted for Santa Rosa by next Wednesday.

San Jose, San Francisco and Oakland can expect about once inch of rain on Saturday, according to the NWS, and another two inches between Sunday and Wednesday. Advisories are in place for minor flooding in river areas and landslides might also be possible as the ground is already soaked from the last round of bad weather in the area.
