RIALTO, California — During a recent incident in the City of Rialto, a father was arrested for “tagging” and DUI while his teenage stepson was in the vehicle.
It happened on the night of February 9, 2024, in the 700 block of W. Baseline Road.
Officers from the Rialto Police Department observed a subject actively engaged in spray painting or “tagging” the block wall surrounding the West Valley Water District.
Shockingly, this unlawful act took place with the perpetrator’s juvenile stepson in the vehicle, witnessing the actions.

The suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Carlos Nunez, a resident of the City of Rialto, was immediately detained by officers. Subsequent investigation revealed that Nunez had arrived at the location under the influence of alcohol, carrying both spray paint and a permanent marker, all while his teenage stepson watched from within their car.
Carlos Nunez was booked into the West Valley Detention Center and charged with; PC 594(b)(1) – Felony Vandalism, PC 273(a) – Child Endangerment, and VC 23152(a) – Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.
