Heidi Hennink-Kaminski is the proposed new dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University (MSU). The MSU Board of Trustees is yet to approve this recommendation. If approved, Hennink-Kaminski will start her tenure on June 10. She is currently a professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, and has been a faculty member since 2006. She also holds the position of senior associate dean for academic and faculty affairs.

Hennink-Kaminski has over ten years of experience in academic administration. At UNC Chapel Hill, she leads initiatives to improve academic culture and faculty development, and to ensure the innovation and impact of educational programs. She has also been a member of various university committees, including the UNC Graduate School’s administrative board and academic policy committee.

Before her current position, Hennink-Kaminski was an interim dean and associate dean for graduate studies for ten years. She led the creation of new programs and curriculum changes across six graduate programs. MSU Interim Provost Thomas Jeitschko believes that Hennink-Kaminski’s leadership experience and fresh ideas will benefit the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
