Lubbock police ask for the public’s help locating fugitive connected to fatal shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department asked for the public’s help on Thursday to locate Brian “Tray” Anderson, 27, who is connected to the Hub City Inn shooting on Sunday.

Anderson is wanted regarding an arrest warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, LPD said.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of Avenue Q South Drive Monday Sunday evening for reports of shots fired. Orion Akins, 35, was found and pronounced dead at the scene.

LPD said the investigation into Akins’ death is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Line at 806-741-1000.
