BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — A homicide investigation is underway after a decomposing body was discovered in Birmingham Thursday morning.
According to Birmingham Police, a resident found the unidentified person face down at an illegal dumping site on 48th Avenue North around 10:17 a.m. The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office determined the victim suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
No one is in custody at this time.
